We are a Nonprofit Organization

Novitas Foundation is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3). Simply put, we are a nonprofit/NGO charity that is entirely focused on real people in need, meaningful change, and sustainable results around the world. As such, we work with and support other charitable organizations in furthering our mission.

Our Mission

Novitas Foundation’s purpose, as a nonprofit, nonpolitical collaborative, is to create, support, and foster partnerships for international relief; to lead global innovation initiatives and accelerate fair trade programs; and to mobilize individuals, communities, and nations in the sustainable development of economies, cultures, and communities worldwide.

What Our Name Means

Novitas is derived from the Latin root word novus meaning “new” and -tās used to form nouns indicating a state of being. Foundation comes from the Latin word fundātiō meaning “the act of founding, fixing, establishing, or beginning to erect.”

As a public charity, Novitas Foundation is establishing something new – creating new foundations through relief, innovation, and sustainable development on which people, places, and communities worldwide can build a better future.

What Makes Us Different

Our entire team–including our management team–operates on a volunteer basis. Other operating costs are covered by Pier Sponsors. 100% of public donations go directly into the programs we develop, manage, and support. Read about our 100% Donation Policy.

Where We Work

The needs of people everywhere–whether in Central and South America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, or Eastern Europe–have common threads, and meeting those needs is the substance of our focus and strategy. We’ve taken our experiences, our supporters’ hearts, and a new vision for sustainable change to go where the need is. Oftentimes, this takes us to areas where others refuse to go. We take our willingness to set aside preconceived notions and simply jump in to help with a sincere heart.
